Last week, Brand New Day launched its first mobile app. The app is the icing on the cake of a successful collaboration between Move and design agency Rōnin Amsterdam, known for its work for major international clients such as Asics, G-Star RAW, Lipton and Manolo Blahnik.
About Brand New Day
Brand New Day is an online bank for savings, investments and pensions. Brand New Day was founded in 2010 (the time of usurious policies) as a challenger to insurers in the market for pension products. Meanwhile, Brand New Day - known for their campaigns with Sander Schimmelpenninck - manages almost 6 billion euros for over 250,000 customers. Since last week, it has been possible for them to manage their assets via the Brand New Day app.
Nick van Casteren, Customer Service Manager at Brand New Day: 'At Brand New Day you build up assets for the long term. Although managing your assets via the web version of 'MijnBND' has always been fine, there was also a need among clients for an app. Now that the app is there, you can also easily keep an eye on your assets on your phone. And that has been very well received by our customers.'
'Besides being proud of the result, we are also enormously proud of the collaboration with Move and Rōnin Amsterdam. Different disciplines, different companies, but we managed to work together as one team from the beginning. Something I think is crucial to deliver a good product, but not always obvious.'
Brand New App
With the app - which has been downloaded more than 41,000 times in the first two weeks since its release - customers now have easy access to Brand New Day services and financial products via mobile. Users can view the balance and other details about their accounts. These include current returns, portfolio composition, expected final capital of retirement accounts and information about annuity payments. App users can also use iDeal to deposit additional funds into their accounts. In addition to being user-friendly, the app is also highly secure. It features multi-factor authentication and users can choose a biometric login with facial recognition or fingerprint.
Brand New Day x Move x Rōnin Amsterdam
Last September, several agencies were invited by Brand New Day for an RFP. Three of them were asked to present an approach. Brand New Day chose Move as app developer based on references of previous apps, experience within finance & banking, approach to security and native development. In terms of creative vision, strategy and concept, Brand New Day chose agency Rōnin Amsterdam.
Paul Fellinger, CCO at Move: 'The successful collaboration with the Brand New Day team and digital design agency Rōnin Amsterdam is reflected in an app that not only feels good, but is also pleasant to use. Partly due to the short lines at Brand New Day, we managed to release a distinctive and fully-fledged banking app in the App Stores within a relatively short period of time.'
