Energy prices are very high and to help households, the government has taken measures in the form of a price ceiling. This price cap applies from January 1, 2023. Move, together with Budget Thuis, has implemented a new feature in their app that gives customers insight into their current consumption compared to the price ceiling.
What does the price cap entail?
In 2023, there is a price cap on energy for households. This means they will not pay more than a maximum price for electricity and gas up to a certain usage. It is designed to help households pay their energy bills.
New feature app Budget Home
All current data is loaded through the smart meter. Budget Thuis customers can then see in the app the period of energy consumption until the annual bill and how much they can still consume to stay under the price ceiling. This is displayed via a smart indicator that takes into account the different season and shows whether you are on track and gives advice on usage:
- You're expected to stay under the price ceiling, so you're fine;
- You're right up against the price ceiling, so you're fine, but pay attention;
- You are expected to go over the price ceiling, for the excess you pay your contract rate. You can make some adjustments by using less.
Because the principle of the price ceiling is completely new, the coming period will be paid close attention to the wishes of the end user in combination with the information that is available. Based on this information, any adjustments will be made.
