Together with Orlando International Airport (MCO), we are always looking for new ways to improve the passenger experience. As part of this effort, we are continuously working on new and existing features in the MCO Airport app. This is how we help passengers throughout their journey. Whether they are looking for their gate or want a quick bite to eat before departure. With the latest addition to the MCO Airport app, passengers can easily find what they are looking for within seconds.
Search by products instead of stores
The new search functionality in the MCO Airport app provides a solution for passengers who know what products they are looking for, but don't know where to find them. Suppose a passenger wants to buy a new set of headphones for use during their flight. By simply searching for "Headphones," the user is presented with a list of all the stores that sell headphones. Easy and fast.
Together with MCO Airport, we inventoried all products and menus of airport stores and restaurants. This allows passengers to search for a product or dish, rather than searching by just store or restaurant. For example, do you search on "Steak? Then you will see a list of all restaurants that have steak on the menu.
Already in the search results list, the app shows where the stores and restaurants are located, so users can quickly determine which is the closest one. Has the user chosen his store or restaurant? Then the app shows him the quickest route to it.
Insights for the airport
The MCO Airport app provides the airport with a list of the most popular search terms and even a list of search terms that lead to no search results. In this way, the airport can adjust its map according to users' search behavior. In this way, we can continue to improve the interactive map together with MCO Airport.
